Jeff Kirchner

Principal / Superintendent

I am excited to continue my time as the Principal at Hume Lake Charter School this year and loving the opportunity to work alongside the staff at such an amazing school. I have a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University and an Administrative Services Credential from National University. Prior to my time at HLCS, I spent 16 years teaching a variety of subjects in a variety of school settings. I look forward to an amazing year and many successful years to come!

Jen Nelson

Vice Principal /
School Counselor

I have had the privilege of working at Hume Lake Charter School for 17 years and am so grateful to work along side of students and families as the School Counselor and Vice Principal. I earned my Master’s in Education and Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential through Point Loma Nazarene University. My family and I have been a part of the Hume Lake community for 23 amazing years and when we enjoy going on outdoor adventures together!

Sarah Bosman

Office Manager / Grant Writer

I have lived at Hume Lake for about 20 years. I am from the Pacific Northwest. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Intercultural Studies from Multnomah University. I have had many jobs at HLCS: SPED aide, K-2nd aide, 3rd-5th aide, 3rd/4th grade aide, high school aide, and now recently the Office Manager of the school. I am married to my very cool, awesome husband and we have three boys. My favorite age to teach is 4th grade and younger, mostly because they are shorter than me!

Hollie Carroll

Grades k-2 / Grant Writer

I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I have loved teaching many different grades throughout the years in my career. Currently, I am super lucky to get to teach the K-2 class at HLCS! K-2 students are awesome!  In my free time I love to read, garden, do crafts, and spend time with my family.

Jen Kirchner

Grades 3-4

I have always been a teacher at heart, and after a 17-year career in corporate training and development, I found my teaching “happy place” in PK-12 education. I received a B.S. in Elementary Education, M.S. in Instructional Technology, and teaching credential through Grand Canyon University, and I have served in various classroom roles since 2017. I am thrilled to be continuing my journey as an educator and learning partner with the students and families at HLCS.

Jenny Brannan

Grades 5-6

After graduating with a BA in Liberal Studies and teaching credential from Fresno Pacific University, I started my teaching in Fresno, originally in Kindergarten.  I ended up landing in junior high for the bulk of my teaching career.  After short stints in high school and K-2, I’m now back in the middle grades, enjoying novels, algebra, and sarcastic jokes.

Kristi Sebela

Grades 7-12,
ASB/Yearbook advisor

I’ve been teaching since 2004, mostly in the upper elementary grades.  My goal as a teacher is to create a joy filled classroom where students are known, where they are motivated to work-hard and give their best effort each day.

Jeff Sanford

Grades 7-12 / Newspaper Advisor

Jeff Sanford graduated with a double major in English and Biblical Studies from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon. He is married to his awesome wife and they have four fun and cute children. Their family loves living up at Hume, being a part of the community, going on hikes, and birdwatching.

Logan Sebela

Special Education, P.E.

Originally from Texas, I went to high school in Illinois, where I enlisted in the Navy. After the Navy I started working towards becoming a teacher. After subbing for a time, I was offered a contract in Grossmont Union High School District. There I served in a Special Ed program focused on behavior issues for 7 years. I then went on to serve as the department head of Special Education at IDEA Center High School for 4 years before accepting the Sped position at Hume Lake Charter School.
